From the 1^st April 2004 whenever an order is placed a separate box of goodies will be made up and labelled with the name of the person who ordered the catering. It's our little way of saying "thanks" and letting you enjoy some of the good life, but don't tell Gordon

MORE HOOTS AND JOLLY JAPES AT CHESHIRE'S PREMIER SUMMER BALL.

Regular readers of the By Request Tribune will know we have become involved in a Charity Summer Ball held in Woodford Cheshire in aid of Cancer Research UK. Each year the event gets bigger and wilder, and this year was no exception. The theme for the Ball on Saturday 3^rd July was "Down Under" an Antipodeans extravaganza, the Thursday lunch time was a chance for those ladies who do lunch to dine and chat, gossip and shop. The organiser's words not mine!

It's polite to say its flattering to asked to be a "judge" at a catering colleges annual Top Chef competition. but getting across town during rush hour and fearing what maybe presented in front of me over the next 3 hours didn't fill my heart with joy. This jaded

BY REQUEST hack is pleased to report that over a short period "the youth of today", have been able to learn and then execute a series of difficult skills. In a 1 ½ hour period the students finished 2 dishes and presented them to the judges. I am delighted to say ALL the students produced visually attractive and tasty food, better than many items I have been charged a great deal for. I would heartily recommend a visit to the student restaurant at Macclesfield College.
